Qiuhu Mountain Quarry

The Qiuhu Mountain Quarry is a Ming quarry site at what is now Qiuhu Mountain, Yongyang Subdistrict, Lishui District. The Nanjing municipal list of protected sites records it as Ming, at Qiuhu Mountain, Yongyang Subdistrict.

The municipal list gives only the level, period and location. It gives neither the extent of the quarry nor its working methods nor specific years of working, and the gazette notice for the municipal batch has not been traced. This entry does not infer a span of years from the recorded period of Ming.

Entry to be expanded. This is a skeleton entry: at present it guarantees only that the fields and sources are complete. Still to be added: the extent of the quarry and the number of surviving workings, physical evidence for how stone was extracted and dressed, the use and destination of the stone, its relation to Ming works in the district, and the batch notice for the municipal listing. Until then, no unverified description of the working methods will be entered.
