Rui Ancestral Hall, Honglan

The listing

The Nanjing municipal list of protected sites records Rui Ancestral Hall, Honglan, as Qing, in Cangkou Village, Honglan Subdistrict, Lishui District. The municipal list gives only the level, period and location; it gives neither the width and depth of the hall nor the year it was built. The gazette notice for the municipal batch has not been traced, so the batch is recorded here as unverified.

Three halls in one village

In the notice of the Lishui District People's Government on the third batch of district-level protected sites (Li Zheng Fa [2017] No. 197) two further halls in Cangkou Village are listed: the Fan Ancestral Hall and the Qiu Ancestral Hall, both recorded as Qing and district-level. With this entry, three ancestral halls in the single village of Cangkou are listed, the Rui hall at municipal level and the Fan and Qiu halls at district level.

Each is an independent protected site with its own protected area; this entry does not merge them, and it does not infer any relationship between the three lineages from the fact that their halls stand in one village.
