Wei Ancestral Hall, Shiqiu

The listing

The Nanjing municipal list of protected sites records Wei Ancestral Hall, Shiqiu, as Qing, in Weijiacun, Shiqiu Subdistrict, Lishui District. The municipal list gives only the level, period and location; it gives neither the size of the hall nor the year it was built. The gazette notice for the municipal batch has not been traced.

Two villages of the same name

There are two villages called Weijiacun in the district, in different towns: one in Shiqiu Subdistrict, where this hall stands, and one in Jingqiao Town, where the Weijiacun Mound Tombs, a seventh-batch provincial protected site, are located. The two share a name but belong to different towns. This entry refers to the village in Shiqiu Subdistrict and has nothing to do with the one in Jingqiao Town. Any citation should name the town or subdistrict as well, never "Weijiacun" alone.
