Huangjia Ancient Well

The Huangjia Ancient Well is a Song dynasty well in what is now Huangjia Village, Hefeng Town, Lishui District. The Nanjing municipal list of protected sites records it as Song, at Huangjia Village, Hefeng Town.

The municipal list gives only the level, period and location. It records neither the form of the well nor the construction of its curb and lining, neither its depth nor the quality of its water, and neither the year it was sunk nor the years it was cleaned. The gazette notice for the municipal batch has not been traced either. The Song date is the period recorded in the list; this entry does not infer a particular year from it.

Entry to be expanded. This is a skeleton entry: at present it guarantees only that the fields and sources are complete. Still to be added: the form of the well and the condition of its curb, its depth and water source, the dates it was sunk and later cleaned, its relation to the settlement of Huangjia Village, and the batch notice for the municipal listing.
