Lixiang Revolutionary Site Buildings

Position and listing

The Lixiang Revolutionary Site Buildings stand at Lixiang, Shitouzhai Village, Baima Town, Lishui District. In the list attached to the district government's notice on the third batch of district-level protected cultural relic sites (Li Zheng Fa [2017] No. 197), the buildings are recorded as modern in date, with the place given under the naming of the time as "Lixiang Village, Baima Town". Lixiang Village now belongs to Shitouzhai Village, Baima Town, and the address field above uses the current naming.

What the group contains

The list gives only the name, the date and the place; it does not set out the composition of the group, the function of individual buildings or their condition. A 2025 reply from the district culture and tourism bureau mentions separately the site of a New Fourth Army uniform factory, but the sources do not explain how it relates to the group. This entry does not merge the two, nor infer the group's composition from the list.

Distinction from "Lixiang Revolutionary Site"

This entry covers the district-level protected site, whose protection attaches to the buildings themselves. The Lixiang Revolutionary Site denotes the wider memorial place that Lixiang became as the wartime seat of the leading party, government and military organs of southern Jiangsu; its scope and content are broader. The two are connected but are not the same thing, and neither entry stands in for the other.

The selection list

According to the district culture and tourism bureau's 2025 reply to a CPPCC proposal, the Lixiang revolutionary site group is on the second Jiangsu selection list of immovable revolutionary relics. The reply writes "Lixiang revolutionary site group" where the district heritage list writes "Lixiang Revolutionary Site Buildings"; the sources do not say whether the two names denote exactly the same thing. Nor does inclusion on a selection list amount to designation as a provincial immovable revolutionary relic. This entry reproduces the reply's wording and states that qualification.
